Documented (subject’s current employer page): Tsinghua SIGS published that on the morning of April 28, 2025, Charles M. Lieber joined Tsinghua Shenzhen International Graduate School as a full-time faculty member and was appointed Chair Professor of Tsinghua University. The English faculty page lists “05/2025-present Chair Professor, Tsinghua Shenzhen International Graduate School (Tsinghua SIGS)” and “Professor within the Institute of Materials Research.” A later SIGS item also calls him a SMART Investigator at the Shenzhen Medical Academy of Research and Translation.
Those are the university’s titles. This site uses them. “Fled to China” is a commentary headline in some U.S. coverage, not the wording on the SIGS bio. See the Fox 2026 post.
